Presentation

Kim is a doctoral student in language and literature didactics (since 2021), with a focus on reading and writing instruction in the early years of elementary school. Ongoing research projects focus on graphic models and subject-specific meta-language for narrative texts, and how teachers and students (re-)design the staging of both models and narrative texts. This explicit storytelling instruction is examined through design theory and further social semiotic concepts.

As a teacher educator, he mainly teaches in Swedish didactics courses aimed at the early years of elementary school. Here, the relationship between theory and teaching practice is particularly relevant as a tool to contribute to students' didactic awareness, enabling them to make well-reflected choices in their future teaching.
