Presentation
Pål Brunnström is a researcher and teacher at the Department of Urban Studies, and director of the Institute for Studies in Malmö History (IMH). He is also connected to the Institute of Urban Research. Pål is currently researching the Swedish cotton textile industry and its connections to colonialism and is the editor of a recently published edited volume on the subject, Weaving it together. He has also written about Swedish capitalists' constructions of class and gender in his thesis and is currently writing about the history of the Swedish part of the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. Pål also researches and teaches about the history of Malmö, the history of the labor movement, queer history, urban history, as well as migration and racism, and is currently involved in a European collaboration to investigate labor migration around the southern parts of the Baltic Sea.
