Are you a student who wants to participate in a study on the prevention of sexual harassment in academia? Here you can find information about the project and what it means to participate.
Participants wanted
We are looking for students at colleges or universities who want to participate in a research study that aims to contribute in-depth knowledge about how to prevent sexual harassment in universities. You do not need to have personal experience of sexual harassment.
As a participant, you will participate in a dialogue based on case descriptions. The dialogue will take 1-5 - 2 hours.

About the study
The study is not about personal experiences of sexual harassment, instead, the discussion includes discussions about case descriptions. If you experience discomfort from participating, we encourage you to contact the Student Health Center, which is informed about the study.
By participating in the study, you will contribute to a better understanding of the needs of university students. On a long-term basis, this may create better opportunities for supporting mechanisms and preventative measures against sexual harassment at the university.
The research is conducted and organized by Malmö University. The research is approved by the Swedish Board of Ethics, Etikprövningsmyndigheten (Dnr 2024-06030-01).
What happens to my data?
The project will collect and register personal data. The focus group discussions will be recorded on digital files. Personal data such as age, gender and country of origin will be collected, but this information will not be attributable to individual people. No individual will be identifiable in reports or publications using the collected material.
Your replies and results will be handled without the interference of unauthorized people and only members of the research team will have access to the data collected.
Malmö University is responsible for your data. According to the EU: 's data protection law (GDPR) you have a right to access your data collected in the study and correct any errors, free of charge. The right to delete your data collected and the limitation of data treatment does not apply when the data is necessary for the study. You can also request your data to be deleted or receive information about the handling of personal data. If you wish to take part in the personal data, contact Charlotta Löfgren. The data protection ombudsman can be reached at: dataskyddsombud@mau.se. Complaints about the handling of personal data can be submitted to the Integrity Protection Authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten.
How do I receive information about the results of the study?
The results of the project will be published in scientific and popular science journals and can be read through Open Access.
Compensation
No compensation will be paid for loss of earnings or other expenses related to participation in the study.
Your participation is voluntary
Your participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw your consent to participate at any time. You do not have to disclose a reason if you choose not to participate or would like to stop your participation, and your decision will not have any bearing on your current or future studies at Malmö University.
If you want to stop participating during the interview, notify the interviewer who will contact the researcher.
