Once the application deadline has passed, an initial selection is made for expert review. Applicants who are clearly not eligible for the position are screened out following a decision by the teacher nomination committee.

Expert assessments shall be obtained from at least two external experts. Experts shall normally have at least associate professor competence, and individuals of different genders shall be equally represented.

Interview, trial lecture/pedagogical work sample and reference checks

The expert opinions are reviewed by the Teacher Appointment Committee, and any additional information may be requested from the experts. Based on the expert opinions, the Teacher Appointment Committee, in consultation with the recruiting manager, selects candidates for interview and trial lecture/pedagogical work sample. References shall be obtained.

Once the approved expert opinions have been received, all applicants for the position shall be given access to these opinions.

The Teacher Appointment Committee's decision on recommendation

The Teacher Appointment Committee makes an overall assessment based on the assessment criteria and decides which candidate is considered most suitable for the position. The committee then decides to recommend that the dean appoint the candidate.
