Erica Righard is a professor of social work. She is assistant head of department with responsibility for research and research education at the Department of Social Work and a research fellow at Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare (MIM). She is also a member of the Institute for Urban Research (IUR) and of the research milieu Studies in Housing and Welfare (Studier i bostad och välfärd, SBV) at Malmö University. In 2024–2028 she is director of the Swedish Research School for Social Work (SRSW). Her research is multidisciplinary and mainly concerns the intersection of international migration and social work/policy/protection in a broad sense and at varying societal levels.
