Presentation

I am employed as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Health and Society, Department of Care Science. I hold a specialist nursing degree in Elderly Care and I am a certified Silvia Nurse. I defended my doctoral thesis in October 2025. My PhD project focused on 'Existential loneliness from the perspective of older migrants'.

The dissertation “The Silent Journey: Existential loneliness from the perspective of older migrants” identified belonging and meaningfulness as central dimensions in older migrants’ ability to manage existential loneliness. Building on these findings, my current research explores the activities and strategies that older migrants themselves use to create meaning and foster a sense of belonging. The aim of the study is to generate knowledge that can support person-centered approaches within health and social care for older adults.
