Gunnar Krantz is a professor within the arts in Visual communication/drawing. His main focus is comics and he has contributed to the introduction of contemporary comics in Sweden as an artist, editor and critic since the late 70s. He has published a number of books and his works has been exhibited in art institutions in Sweden and abroad. His research focuses on artistic production – especially the narrative affordances of the inked black line – forms of publication, the emergence of the field of comics in Sweden and the relation between comics and contemporary art. Krants is Researchleader of Malmö University Comics Hub (MUCH).
